Three from Three, fastest in qualifying and a lap record, it doesn’t get much better than that for a race weekend, and that’s the weekend Jordan Lloyd and the BRM team have had at the Sandown 500 in the Jayco CAMS Formula 4 Series. “Eighty-four points have been banked this weekend, it’s been a dream run” Lloyd enthused.
The final race today Lloyd once again ran away from the field, he was able to control the race although Luis Leeds who finished second tried to keep Jordan honest. “I kept my head down but also one eye on the mirror, I was conscious of Luis there but I had the speed to keep the lead, he beat me off the line and in to turn one, I managed to pass him half way along the back straight here after a bit of drafting” said Lloyd after the race.
The safety car came out on Lap 5 after Zane Goddard found the wall at turn 4, “we had a quick breather when the safety car came out, its warmer today so it was easier to keep the tyre temps up, on the restart I got a good run and ran my own race” Lloyd noted.
In Lloyds final wrap he said, “Team BRM and myself are super happy with the way this weekend has played out, ended up being a perfect clean sweep for us which is good at this stage for our championship lead, hopefully we can carry this confidence with us in to the next round”.
Jordon has 321 points in the series and leads Thomas Randle by 91, the Jayco CAMS Formula 4 series now head to the Gold Coast on 23-25 October.
